Paint manufactured with lead were used extensively from the 1940’s to the late 1970’s and were applied to residential and commercial surface interiors and exteriors. Lead Based paint was banned in 1978 by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Deteriorating lead based paint can produce poisonous dust contamination that can migrate into living and recreational areas. Lead exposure can result in elevated lead blood levels in adults and children causing adverse health effects.
Children are at most risk for exposure to lead dust and paint chips that have deteriorated and settled within the home and outside play areas.
Ace Environmental offers containment, removal and lawful disposal of lead based paint projects.
